Project 10:

Leap

Leap (2016) was a practice-led research project that sought to creeate a learning environment for undergraduate dance students between a university and a conservatoire setting. An outcome of the research process was the development a learning community through the application of a telematic interface. The investigation was how we might effective facilitate creative dance practice and the sharing of practice as a teaching and learning tool from a distance. The Project Directors were Pauline Brooks from Liverpool John Moores University and Darren Carr from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

The outcomes and telematic dance performance was shared at the DanceHE Conference - Sustaining the Discipline: Embedding the Right to Dance in the C21st , jointly hosted by the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, School of Film, Music and Performing Arts Leeds Beckett University and School of Performance and Cultural Industries, University of Leeds, 28th-29th October 2016.
